An Afternoon at the Park

On May 8, DJ and I took Grace and her best friend, Abby, to the park in Villa Rica. Abby and Grace have been friends their whole lives, and always enjoy playing and being silly together. This afternoon was no exception as the girls flew a kite, played on the playground and took a walk together. Friends make life interesting, don't they?!

Dress Divas

My best friend, Melanie, is getting married in October. I am her matron of honor and Grace is her flower girl, so you know what that means...dresses!!! In early May, Grace and I met Melanie, her mother and several other bridesmaids at David's Bridal to order our dresses for the wedding. We had a lot of fun trying on the dresses and enjoying Mel's bridal excitement!

We treated ourselves to lunch at Olive Garden afterwards. The food was delicious and we laughed until our very full stomachs hurt! Just a few more months until Melanie becomes Mrs. King!

The End of the Year

Grace's first year of preschool came to an end on May 11 with a wonderful end of the year program. Her class performed two songs as a group and she recited a poem, the days of the week, and sang the "G" song. She was absolutely not shy at all, and thoroughly enjoyed holding the microphone and being on stage with her friends. I wasn't really worried about her having stage fright, but you never really know what to expect from Grace!

This is Grace and her wonderful teacher, Mrs Missy, who helped ensure that Grace was well cared for and flourishing each day in school. Grace adores Missy, and we are all so thankful we were able to place her with such a sweet and patient teacher.

This is Grace whispering with Jessie, her best buddy in class. They played dress up everyday and got along so well!

This is her "I'm done" dance as her class walked down the aisle. Oddly enough, it resembles Brendan Frasier's dance from the early 90's movie, "Encino Man"!

I'm so proud of my baby for doing such an amazing job in her first year of preschool! We're looking forward to enjoying a summer of fun, then it's time for PreK in the fall!

Mr. and Mrs. Donaldson

The morning of May 16 dawned sunny and humid, but it was the most glorious day. It was the day I had waited for my entire life, it seemed. I was getting married. Not only getting married, but getting to marry my absolute best friend who makes me laugh and makes me feel so loved, and I knew he was the most perfect man in the world for me. So, I could have woken up to a hurricane on May 16, and it still would have been the most glorious day.

DJ and I enjoyed a small, intimate outdoor wedding in our church's prayer garden at 1:00 in the afternoon with our close family and friends. We had a quiet reception with cake and champagne at my parent's home, and ended our wedding day with an overnight stay at the Ritz Carlton. I could not have had a more wonderful day, nor could I have made a better choice. I thank my Lord everyday for bringing DJ and I together.

Here are some pictures from our wedding, the beginning of our life together.
